quick break in tokyo

I have about 24 hours left in tokyo, then I continue my journey to Nepal! I`ve been taking it slow here: visiting some nearby temples, going shopping with Chie Obasan (my aunt), eating A LOT, and watching the American TV show 24, with which my aunt and uncle are surprisingly obsessed.  I`ve got to say, they`ve got me hooked too : D .  It`s a litte sad/ironic that I`ve come all the way to Japan to watch an American television show.  Maybe watching it on a Japanese television screen makes a difference? Haha, no, don`t kid yourself, Kori...

So. Nepal. I`m a little nervous.  I`m a lot excited.  I`m not sure how well I`ll handle the whole not-speaking-the-language thing.  I should have studied more (at all) before I left. OH WELL. THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO NOW.  Wish me the best of luck everyone!

  4. Kori! I miss you! Love the blog. Sounds wonderful that you are able to communicate already--it really helps that your family doesn't speak English. Immersion! I love languages (studied six of them so far.) Wondered why you couldn't eat the food of the Puja. (missed that) You are wise to seize everyday. It will go by fast. You are learning so much more than you would at Claremont. It is a great time for you to travel--a million kudos. Finally, you look like a sun goddess too. Love, Kasia
